There Was Once a Road

There was once a woman
she saw a shape, a secret
bringing a lordly sin.
Silvery panting
by lantern glow
as these stars like
my phosphorescence
shine in
the night.

A setting of
despair.
There might have
been a face.
Maybe yours?
Maybe mine?

It all came upon me then.
All the roads lead back
to the flowers
of my youth
trembling
sharpness
their petals
can cut like

knives.
